And now for something completely different, and I hope uplifting.
The Midterms are almost upon us, and I’m frankly so disappointed in the lack of common sense, forward-looking, constructive policies from both parties that I just have nothing more to say on those subjects.
If you feel about the same, here’s a link to a 45-minute talk that I hope will encourage you on several fronts, from a strong defense of our faith to clear guidelines for classical, conservative education for the youngest among us.
My wife and I have spent several weeks in Charleston, and we’re pleased to report that many former Episcopal churches here, like St. Philip’s, St. Michael’s and St. Andrews, are strong bastions of the more conservative and traditional Anglican Church in North America.
The talk in this video, “For Such A Time As This,” was given on Sunday, September 27th at the Rector’s Forum at St. Philip's Church by Rev. Justin Hare, who is also the Headmaster for the new St. Philips Academy classical Christian school. For Such A Time As This | Saint Philip's Church - Charleston, SC.
If you are not from a liturgical church background, don’t worry! Many of Justin’s points apply equally to all conservative mainline Protestant church groups. The Anglican Church is just very good at specifying and writing down exactly what it believes, which is very helpful at a time when “truth” can appear to some to be malleable.
We were joined that day by two dear friends who are very-Baptist, and they very much enjoyed both Justin’s teaching and the subsequent church service The Eighteenth Sunday After Pentecost: The Holy Eucharist, with its incredible music and liturgy.
Again, please have a look/listen to what Justin has to offer, not really connected directly to any specific issue today, but rather as a reminder of how important is Biblical Truth to all that we do and say…and to raising up the next generations.
So I hope you might take a break from the latest ever-repeating news cycle and instead enjoy Justin's insights.
